Only This I Want

A few Sundays ago I attended mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gretna, LA. During communion they played this song, titled “Only This I Want.” I sat inside the beautiful sanctuary listening to this melody that was so calming and peaceful – I knew I had to play it. It was written by Dan Schutte who is a well-known composer of catholic music with over 150 popular hymns.

The song is a simple, direct prayer to know the Lord. And to be one with the Lord in death and life. Take some time to listen to the melody, feel at peace and take time to focus on the words – Only this I want: but to know the Lord.
