Welcome to 2014!! I’m praying that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I did. I spent the season with my partner and our families. Wonderful times!!
Question… Did you make a New Years resolution? If you have in the past you made a resolution, have you been able to keep it? Years ago I tried to make a New Years Resolution and think two months in the resolution went out the window. Of course these were to excercise more, be a better person… those worked out wonderful, LOL
This year I have decided instead of making a New Years Resolution, I would set some goals. Now, I know they sound alike, and on some levels they are, but maybe internally they will work better knowing they are not “New Years Resolutions”…
They are:
1. Work on my physical wellbeing: I used to be a big boy, literally! And up until recently my weight was under control and well that is changing. I have put on a few pounds that really need to go.
2. Work on my mental wellbeing: Times are stressful, thinking about money, my family, my relationship, my job, my church; all these factors, even with the “my” syndrome, add stress to life in general. It will just take effort on my part to make sure that through everything Ryan is taken care of, mentally.
3. Work on my music: Being a music director and having to plan music for church, find new music, lead a choir, and participate on multiple committees at church doesn’t leave much time to work on my music. However, this is no fault but mine. I know the time is there if it were used more productively.
I am hoping I can keep these goals throughout 2014, and in the long term.
I hope you are having a great beginning to 2014, I’m looking forward to it!!
-Ryan
