Today was our first worship service in our new home. 6200 St. Charles Ave, yes, you read it right. St. Charles Ave. God is good!!!!!

The service, being the first one, was a little rocky. Some technical difficulties, which were expected and planned for. The acoustics in the new building are AMAZING!! The congregation and choir filled the space with music. We are making some changes with the instruments, they were a little imbalanced, easily fixable. Overall the service went great! I am thoroughly excited about the new space, the growth coming, and the future of our church, Metropolitan Community Church of New Orleans.
Now comes the other piece. Previously church started at 5pm and I would typically get home around 8 or so, after meetings and etc… now service begins at 10am. We finished service, ate at potluck, cleaned, etc and then it was 1pm. I had NO IDEA what to do with myself. Its been 3+ years since I’ve had a Sunday afternoon off. I wanted to go out and celebrate this new freedom, there are many things in the city that happen on Sunday afternoons that I have never experienced. What I ended up doing… staying home and relaxing enjoying my first Sunday afternoon.
A Great Day!! Church in the morning, relaxing in the afternoon. Couldn’t ask for more! God is good!
