MCC Church
Baton Rouge, LA
I thoroughly enjoy visiting this church for many reasons. They are ALWAYS so friendly, hospitable, a just a pleasure to be around.
The physical building of this church is amazing, its was previously a warehouse, and was converted to a church and includes a office lobby, offices for staff, classrooms, fellowship hall and the main sanctuary. The only downfall to the building would be the ceiling height. Being a former warehouse the ceiling are not that tall. The sanctuary layout is great the stage is in front, sound/video booth in rear and the chairs in a great layout.
The music of this church was different that what I am used too. The previous music director moved due to health issues, and the current music director is doing a great job with what is available. They use worship videos and the choir sings along. They do have a great baby-grand digital piano (signed by Billy Joel) (was on the Oprah show, crazy!) It has great sound, and fills the sanctuary with great joy! The choir does a good job, but I know the church wants to get back a musician and I am excited of the things they can accomplish.
My pastor and I were invited to attend and definitely treated like royalty. I was asked to play during communion and my pastor was asked to co-celebrate communion. They had multiple special guest this particular Sunday. Two singers and myself.
We had a great time worshipping with them and always look forward to being with them, worshipping with them, and being able to participate with one of our sister churches.
Thanks MCC Baton Rouge for making us feel so special, we are so proud of what you have accomplished and the difference you are making in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the World.
