MCC Church
Washington DC area
Arriving at the building I didn’t get the first impression it was a a church, but had been previously told their sanctuary was different. Upon entering I was in awe of this beautiful sanctuary with glass windows above the alter and choir the sunlight pouring in.
This church holds two services one more traditional, the other more contemporary. Of course I attended both services to see the differences.
The music director an extremely talented pianist and singer lead both services with the assistance of a choice. The first service had a piano, organ and drums, the second piano drums and guitar. I was amazed at the talent of the choir, the songs chosen were familiar to me and enjoyed hearing their versions of each.
One of my favorite songs, from the more contemporary service: Sanctuary (we lift our hands in the sanctuary) and they did it right!!
I enjoyed all parts of the service from the music to the sermon to the friendly people I met while visiting.
My only critique of the service, as a music director I enjoy music, a lot of it. And this church didn’t do as much music, but I can say they definitely have the talent to do more.
I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this church and hopefully get to attend again.
